The Founders
Dave has been carp angling since he landed his first carp some 37 years ago, he has fished many of the UK circuit waters over the years. He got involved in commercial bait making five years ago when he formed CarpBaitUK, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to knowing what carp like to eat. Dave has caught carp to over 43 lb in the UK and 45lb overseas from many different waters. Dave's favourite bait now know as the Form - he has been using this for the past few seasons and is very excited by the success it is now bringing the fieldtester team.
Brian has been fishing for over 38 years and was involved in commercial bait making back in the 80's when he was involved in New Concept Baits. Brian joined forces with Dave three years ago to further develop CarpBaitUK. He has caught numerous 30lb carp from the UK to 38lb, he was one of the first pioneers to fish the Orient and caught his PB carp of 60lb in 1990 . Brian's favourite bait is the BH1, it has had some awesome results for him and the field testers.
At CarpBaitUK all of our baits are extensively and exhaustively tested by our team of fieldtesters before release. Whilst all of our fieldtesters are vital to the success of our baits, there is a small number of guys with whom we have developed a close relationship - these guys have been key to us getting where we are today, and their results speak for themselves. While we're busy rolling their bait (!), they're out on the bank putting it through it's paces. For their efforts and achievements, they are all worthy of a special mention.
Dan Mason: Hertfordshire
Dan Mason has been with CarpBaitUK since 2009 and has fished The Form boilie since its release to the testers, in that relatively short period of time, he has already upped his PB Common (to 32lb 4oz) and caught various mirrors over 40lb. Carp fishing is Dans ultimate passion his determination and approach allows him to get in tune with the venues he targets and results just follow.
Stuart McDermott: Berkshire
Stuart McDermott known as Badger fished the circuit over the years looking for that un-caught wacker he is currently fishing the notorious Wraysbury 1. In hushed tones around the Horton and valley area, it had been said by a number of the well known popstars that Badger is one of the best thinking anglers in the country he never leaves nothing to chance, i.e rigs and bait can always be improved and never just settle for "that will do".
Sam Meeuwissen: Berkshire
Sam Meeuwissen has considerable involvement with the wider angling world, including having written regular articles in Carp and Coarse Angler, TCF Magazine and The Carp. He is a professional angling coach, member of the Angling Development Board, BCSG, SCBI, ECHO and the Angling Trust. Sam contacted CarpBaitUK for some help with his campaign on Wraysbury 1 (with his fishing buddy Stu McDermott) and also fishes Dinton Black Swan, in pursuit of some uncaught UK 50's.
Darren Crowe: Norfolk
Darren has been with CarpBaitUK since 2009 and had great success on the BH1 before agreeing to help with the development and testing of The Form. His results have been incredible - topped by his capture of the Baby Face Mirror at 48lb 13oz, as featured in the June 2010 news page. Darren is working with Dave and Brian on a number of exciting new attractors.
Andy Lyons: Essex
Andy is a Level 2 qualified angling coach (L2CCAQ) and has been fishing Essex club and day ticket waters for the last 15 years, after trying various baits which he never felt 100% confident. Until he looked us up, and since joining the team in May 2011 his results have been amazing, with some incredible multiple captures, 3 new pb's including a common of 38.12.
Dan Leone: Norfolk
Dan is a bit of a legend in Norfolk over the years as an angler who just loves a challenge and never gives up until his target fish is in the net, in his own words Dan said “I would feel I have failed if I walked away from a water without nailing all of my target fish” Dan has an uncanny ability to get the job done on hard low stoked waters and has an unprecedented list of true old English carp to his name. Presently fishing Wraysbury.

Lewis Russell: Norfolk
When you ask Dave about Lewis Russell he said, "The lad shines. He's been with us since 2008 and is very keen to learn about all aspects of bait development. His enthusiasm cannot go unnoticed - nor can his results - he seems to catch wherever he goes! He's CarpBaitUK through and through."PB 30lb 8oz overseas 30lb 6oz. His favourite boilie would be the KT30, 'phenomenal Bait'
Paul Lees: Yorkshire
Paul joined the team early 2011 and went on to have his best season ever, applying The Nail to great effect. 30lb carp are still relatively rare beasts in South Yorkshire – Paul managed to bank 5 from the county during the year, with loads of 20’s to back them up. Paul classes himself as a “session angler” – typically fishing 3 to 4 days at a time – and says that one of his greatest strengths is his watercraft – keeping mobile is a key part of his successful approach to banking the better fish.
